Silent Bridge Safe Haven – Nepal

Building Hope: Silent Bridge’s Mission to Rebuild a Safe Havens in Nepal

In the picturesque landscapes of Nepal lies a harsh reality – the scourge of sex trafficking. Yet, amidst the shadows, there shines a beacon of hope: Silent Bridge, a non-profit organization dedicated to recovering and rehabilitating survivors of this heinous crime. Today, we invite you to join us on a journey of compassion and empowerment as we delve into Silent Bridge’s remarkable campaign to build a new safe haven in Nepal.

Immediate Needs in Nepal

Nepal Safe Havens, an initiative by Silent Bridge, operates a 10,000 sq. ft. safe haven, providing refuge for six young women. However, the demand for safety and support far outweighs the current capacity. With plans to expand and accommodate up to 15 individuals, Silent Bridge is reaching out to compassionate hearts around the globe to fulfill critical funding needs. These include constructing new safe havens, hiring additional English teachers, and expanding outreach programs to combat the pervasive issue of sex trafficking.

The Problem

Nepal’s battle against sex trafficking is multifaceted, compounded by factors such as remote geographical barriers, educational gaps, and linguistic challenges. Survivors and potential survivors predominantly reside in rural areas, where the lack of resources and awareness exacerbates their vulnerability. Silent Bridge recognizes these obstacles as catalysts for exploitation and is committed to breaking the cycle of victimization through targeted interventions.

Our Work in Nepal

Silent Bridge’s journey in Nepal began with meticulous research and strategic planning. Identifying an optimal location for their safe haven, the organization embarked on a mission to transform a building into a sanctuary of hope. Through tireless efforts, they furnished the space and established comprehensive outreach programs in high-risk areas.

Moreover, Silent Bridge prioritizes community engagement by collaborating with local stakeholders and forming a dedicated board registered with the Nepali government. This grassroots approach ensures sustainable impact and fosters trust within the communities they serve.

Currently, Silent Bridge’s safe haven provides shelter and holistic support to six young women, offering a lifeline amidst adversity. Concurrently, their outreach initiatives extend beyond the confines of the safe haven, delivering English language education to villages with fewer than 150 children. By enhancing language skills and acting as a community resource, Silent Bridge empowers individuals to recognize and prevent instances of sex trafficking.
